What I love about Spring

I have been being very deep lately so I thought I would share what I love about spring through the pictures that I have taken in the past couple of days.

Life is all about enjoying the little things in it, and not stressing over everything. Take time to enjoy the beauty of each season and know how quickly they will pass.
I have a prayer request today.
I have a dear friend who needs our prayers she is on life support complications after the birth of her child. She was not to live to be 18yrs of age and now she is 28 and has gotten married and now has a child a week or so old. She got the things she hoped for in life but please help us pray she gets to keep it .. urgent need!!!!!!

Faith

Sometimes we are presented with situations as mothers that we feel like we really don’t know what we are doing (at least I do sometimes). I have two beautiful daughters that God bless our family with. I was told after a miscarriage early in our marriage that I might not be able to carry a baby to term. I was devastated by the news , but I knew that God would provide what we needed, in his time. We prayed about it when the Doctor said that he thought we should give fertility treatments a go. He said that we were both young and otherwise healthy and it could be our answer. We were approaching the 1 year mark from the miscarriage with no success. We had the ministers in our church to pray with us and we decided to take the chance. After the 1st round of treatments we went back to the doctor’s office for test and what a miracle we were given that day. (A positive pregnancy test and a hope for a child) We were bless with only a few complications until the 27th week when I went into labor 13 weeks early. I was hospitalized and spent the next 10 weeks in and out of the hospital, and on bed rest, and at 37 weeks delivered a healthy baby girl. She is now 10 1/2 years old (she won’t let me forget the 1/2). When she was 9 months old after the Doctors had told us over and over that we would have to have treatments to have another child we found out that we were being blessed with another child. God knew when we were ready and it was all in his time. This pregnancy started off much like the first being just a little morning sickness and nothing more. At 29 weeks it happened again and for the next 8 weeks were were in and out of the hospital with preterm labor. That last morning in the hospital they were planning on sending me home because I was still a month out, but our second beautiful girl had other plans. She was born at noon.

I said all that to say this: no matter what we face as mothers we can make it, we will make it. We just have to learn to lean on the one who gave them to us in the first place. You and I are a mother because God saw fit to give them to us to be their guide in this world, to shield them from the influences of this world. To teach them right from wrong, and to help them learn to make the choices that will make them in to the people that God put them here to be. I want to be the positive in their lives when all the negatives from this world try to bring them down. We have been entrusted with the most important job in the world:A Mother. We must shoe them that we have Faith in God because that is one of the greatest lessons that we can teach our children. To have FAITH in GOD.

Visual Inspiration

While on our vacation I was inspired by textures and patterns that surrounded me. I thought this might be a good day to share a few with you my readers in hopes that you will be inspired by the same images that I am. I plan on working up some journal pages from some of the patterns and I would love to see any that you create from these, so please link back to this post if you create something from them.

These pages are just a few of the pages that I completed while I was on the road. I would spend about 2 hours each night when we returned to the hotel room after dinner and complete the pages for the day. I really enjoyed this process.

Graceful in Bandera Texas

This shop was beautiful. The simplicity of  the color scheme along with the almost industrial feel of the space, it was a beautiful place to visit.

Bandera, Texas

DSC06464
This town is called the “Cowboy Capital of the West”. It is a interesting little town with a lot to offer, and is an easy day trip from San Antonio. The drive from I-10 is very picturesque and there are a few pull off locations for photography. I visited a few of the local shops and enjoyed the friendly staff. I would like to share a few of them here and recommend you stop for a visit if you are ever in the area.

The Beginning of a Road Trip

road trip 11 001
After 4 years we are finally getting another long road trip. We are so excited. Our destination is San Antonio, Texas and we are looking forward to a great trip. The girls have been doing good (not too much bickering). I trying to document everything in my Remains of the Day Travel Journal. I love the process of using my journal. I am able to have a place for everything that we collect and not end up with a bag of things that end up staying in the bag and never comes out of the bag to be seen again. I have been attaching every thing as we go along and it has been a very easy process.  I will post pictures of my journal soon. For now here is a few more pictures from the road.

As you can tell it has been a long trip so far. We still have a few miles to go before we get there.

Posting from the road

I am posting from the road. I will post some pictures tomorrow. We have been on the road for about 6 hours and decided to stop for the night to get a good nights sleep before a full day of driving tomorrow. The girls have been good only a little bit of sibling rivalry here and there. Only 2 pit stops before arriving here. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a good spring break.
