This Week in the Studio
This is a headband that I made for Shae to match her Easter Dress. I made it last Sunday morning before we left for church so I though I would include it in this week’s studio post.
This one is for me I made it to match my dress that I wore to church today. I made it last night and have the burn to show for it from the glue gun.
All you need is a glue gun some fabric scraps and a little time.

30 days of spring 4-28-11
I love finding the beauty in what most people call weeds. Being able to appreciate the small things make the big picture come into focus so much more. If we focus on the big picture too long we will miss all the small details that make life so wonderful.

Thirty Days of Spring
Wordless Wednesday
EDITED to add: I thought I would give a little hint at what this is. While on Spring Break in Texas I saw this beautiful glass sculpture made of small glass bowls. I just had to share.

A New Reading Space and More
I decided to recreated my home one space at a time. Today’s space is my reading area in my bedroom. I did not really have a space to read other than sitting up in bed and this was too much of a bother for my husband so I decided to take this chair that has lived in the corner of our bedroom and turn it into a reading/journaling space. I didn’t purchase anything new for this space just walked around my home and studio building and pulled things that I thought would fit here. I added a small stool from IKEA and placed a crocheted doily that I had in the closet and a couple of small hat boxes that had been in the kitchen. I found the lamp in my studio building and the black and white throw is a Liberty of London shawl from Target that I have had hanging in my closet for a while. I made the square throw that is in covering the seat is one that I made a few years back when I could still crochet with our my carpel tunnel making my arm blaze up in pain. The Ottoman is a vintage sewing box that I have had for a few years and found it in a local thrift store, for a steal. The Face painting is one of my original mixed media paintings and the other pieces are ones that I gleaned around the house.
Here is the inside of the vintage sewing box. I have turned it into a place that I can store my journals and a few supplies to have on hand so that I can journal before I go to bed.
Here is a few close-ups of my supplies.
I got a chance for a Michael’s run today and picked up a few journaling supplies from their dollar spot. I love getting a bargain.
Please pardon the picture quality these were taken with my phone camera. I hope you all have a blessed weekend.

What I love about Spring
The sweet smell of honeysuckles in the afternoon.
A single purple rose that only lasted a couple of days.
The promise of sweet summer fruit.
Firing up the grill.
A mud pie cake made just for me.
Life is all about enjoying the little things in it, and not stressing over everything. Take time to enjoy the beauty of each season and know how quickly they will pass.
I have a prayer request today.
I have a dear friend who needs our prayers she is on life support complications after the birth of her child. She was not to live to be 18yrs of age and now she is 28 and has gotten married and now has a child a week or so old. She got the things she hoped for in life but please help us pray she gets to keep it .. urgent need!!!!!!

Faith
I said all that to say this: no matter what we face as mothers we can make it, we will make it. We just have to learn to lean on the one who gave them to us in the first place. You and I are a mother because God saw fit to give them to us to be their guide in this world, to shield them from the influences of this world. To teach them right from wrong, and to help them learn to make the choices that will make them in to the people that God put them here to be. I want to be the positive in their lives when all the negatives from this world try to bring them down. We have been entrusted with the most important job in the world:A Mother. We must shoe them that we have Faith in God because that is one of the greatest lessons that we can teach our children. To have FAITH in GOD.
Here are a few links that I wanted to share with you to encourage you. Click on the words in the previous sentence to visit the pages.
Visual Inspiration
While on our vacation I was inspired by textures and patterns that surrounded me. I thought this might be a good day to share a few with you my readers in hopes that you will be inspired by the same images that I am. I plan on working up some journal pages from some of the patterns and I would love to see any that you create from these, so please link back to this post if you create something from them.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
I hope you have a blessed Sunday and a wonderful week ahead.

Travel Journal
I wanted to share a few pages in my travel journal with you. Please le me know what you think about them. I love your comments. I took these while we were riding down the road and I have not had a chance to take better ones.
These pages are just a few of the pages that I completed while I was on the road. I would spend about 2 hours each night when we returned to the hotel room after dinner and complete the pages for the day. I really enjoyed this process.
