Farms on Floyd is a very cute little place that offers locally grown produce and plants in season and it even has a sweet shop with cupcakes and cookies.You can also get delicious ready made foods. They are open Tuesday- Saturday at 11 am each day.

Around My Town Day One

I wan to take you on a trip around my town.

This is the most iconic building that is in my town. It has been seen in many TV shows and movies, such as The Dukes of Hazzard, Smoky and the Bandit, In the Heat of the Night, and currently The Vampire Diaries.

This is one the of the views of the Town Square. I love this town and the people in it. 

This is a great antique shop, that has a wonderful selection of items to decorate your home.

Long time no posts

I have been crazy busy over the fast few weeks and I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted a real post here.
Fist off my dad had a couple of strokes back to back and was in the hospital for 7 days and has been in rehab ever since so this has taken a lot of my time and thoughts. I wanted to share a few pictures of so of the new things that I am working on for a new digital release in my Etsy shop.

These paper quilts will be used to create some new printables for Fall and Christmas. There are some already listed in my Etsy Shop so head over and take a look around and I will be back soon with a bunch of new printables.

Back to School Time

Yesterday was the girls first day of school at a new school. They are in 6th & 7th grades and this week is just 1/2 days so I am on the road a lot right now. Next week is full days so it won't be so bad.

I have gotten everything ready for lunches for next week and will be sharing some of the ideas that I had found around the web. I hope to be around here more next week.

Pattern Play

Simple tools sometimes make the best tools. This is the watercolor set that I am using right now. I have a few and this one is one of the most inexpensive ones that I have and I really love how concentrated the pigments are once they are good and wet. I use a Ranger Mini Mister for this task and wet the whole section that I want to use. I let it sit for about a minute and then use a water brush to pick up the color. I love that I have a bunch of colors to choose from without having the mix and a well for each color on the lid.

Planner Update

I have come up with a way to organize my calendar to best use the space that I have for each day. I decided to use a Bic multi color pen and use one color for each of the categories.

I can see if there is something in each category quickly and be able to plan my day around each of them.

I even made tabs out of washi tape for my notes so that I can used them for various areas of my life.

15 years

Yesterday was my 15th wedding anniversary.

I look back at this picture and see how young I look in this picture.

Starting a New Plan

This month is a big month for our family. The girls will be starting back to school after 2 years of homeschooling, and I am working on a new business venture that I will be announcing soon. So this is going to be a very busy and very exciting time for me and my family.

Yesterday while we were out picking out school supplies for the girls I found this planner in one of my favorite colors. I was planning on just buying a small pocket planner but I really needed something more so this one ended up coming home with me.

I set down and and got to work planning my month and making sure that I had all my appointments down correctly and started to plan my blog post for the month. Because of how busy I know my month is going to be this will help me post on a consistent basis. I decided to use a 4 color pen to color code my entries.

• Green for the girls
• Blue for the blog
• Purple for work
• Pink for personal

I am a very visual person and I think will help me to find things quickly based on what I needing and keep me better organized.

As much as I love technology, a pen a paper is the best way for me to work out anything and planning things out on paper really works for me.
