Glimpses of My Life October Part 1

October is a super busy month for my family. We have lots of birthdays this month. My birthday was last Friday, my oldest daughter's was yesterday, and my Mom's is tomorrow. I want to do a little recap of the events of this month. I have way too many pictures for one post so I will be posting a couple of times with this recap.
I love picking up the British knitting magazines. They have some great articles and I love to the new techniques that I learn when I read these. I have also learned some new stitch patterns that I want to try out.

I am reading the book Simply Tuesday by Emily P. Freeman. I have the hardcopy but I was so excited to find it on the Kindle app as a part of the Prime Reading program. I am loving this book so far.

We are starting to get cooler morning temps around here but it is still pretty warm during the day. That is what I love so much about fall is the cool crisp mornings and nights.

I am the handler for our county mascot, "Jasper" he is the deer mascot for Jasper County, since we are know as "The Deer Capital of Georgia". I have been taking Jasper to lots of different events around the county this month.

I have really been a prolific knitter this month as well. I have four published patterns on Ravelry and this one is just one of them.

This is such a sweet picture. Mo the cat is 7 months old and he was orphaned when he was 8 weeks old after his mom was attacked. Red the dog has since taken care of him and protects him. More often than not he will sleep right beside him or either perched on his back. It is so sweet I just have to take a picture as often as I can.

Forsyth Shawl

There is a new shawl pattern in my Ravelry Shop. I am so excited to debut the Forsyth Shawl.
This is a garter stitch shawlette that incorporates stripes and eyelet rows for added interest. With a unique shaping technique, this is a quick knit project because it used worsted weight yarn and a larger needle. This project can be knit up over a weekend. The picot bind off adds interest to the edge with a little bit of sass. It can be worked into a larger shawl by adding more repeats and stripes.

New yarn stashed

I got this yarn from a lady on Ravelry and I am very excited to work up a new design with it. It is the same base yarn as the yarn I used for my Leg Warmers. This colorway is called Fig Tart. It has some dark chocolate color along with light pinks and greens with a little yellow thrown into the mix.

I can't wait to see how this works up. Since it is a hand-painted yarn I don't know if it will pool. I plan on knitting up a swatch to see how it will work up. I am thinking about making a pair of long finger-less gloves with the same stitch pattern that I used for the legwarmers .

This a Shawl in a ball from Lion Brand and I am planning on using it to knit up a new pattern that I have designed. I will also add 4 of the bon bon yarns to it to add some stripes of color.

I love these little Bon Bons from Lion Brand, they are going to be split into 2 sets and then made up into shawls

Glimpses of my life

A new tea added to by stash. It is very good.

This is the view from my back porch.

My chickens are giving me super giant eggs.

He is 6 months old but looks like he is only 2 months old, and he loves my lap now.
