A Productive Week

I have been absent here but I have been very active in my studio. I want to share a few of the new items with you.

I had this canvas laying around with just a few layers on it, and I was not really pleased with how it turned out. So I reworked it and went in a whole new direction.

I was inspired my Christy Thomlison from Scarlett Lime. Her post on the September Mixed Media Kit gave me the idea to shop my stash to create my own kit of things to create a house canvas. I created backgrounds using techniques from various classes that I have taken this year and combined them all into this canvas.

Here is the finished canvas. I also took some inspiration from Junelle Jacobson from Yes and Amen. I really like the techniques that she uses on her collage paintings, and art journal pages.

Here is a Close-up of the texture. I added the scripture “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord” with printed text.

I then took the idea a step further and created mini versions on canvas. These will be in my Etsy shop later this week.

It took a couple of days to decide how to finish these but I really like the results.

Each one of the mini houses has one of the Fruits of the Sprit on them.
