In the Dollar Spot at Target they had large fabric laundry hampers for $2.50 and I have to pick a couple of them up. My girls need new ones and I saw all the possibilities to decorate them up. I have two of them and plan on making them each unique. Today I am going to show you how I decorated the first one.
Fabric Laundry Hamper Painted Design Tutorial Supplies:
- Scribbles Fabric Paints in the colors of your choice. I used Shiny Red, Shiny White, Glittering Crystal, and Glittering Silver.
- A Fabric Marking pen for dark fabric or a white watercolor pencil
- A Fabric Laundry Hamper
First you start by deciding on the placement of the name, and draw it on with the white pencil.
Using the white pencil draw on a few design elements. don’t worry if they are not perfect at this point because you can wipe the marks off with a wet cloth after the paint is dry
I painted the name with the Scribble Fabric Paints first as this was the largest design element.
I used the shiny white for the swirl elements.
The floral style elements were made with the Glittering Crystal, and the little dots with the Glittering Silver.
I hope you enjoyed this project and come back on Friday for the pink version using a sketch from my sketchbook as the inspiration for the design in “From Sketch to Reality” The next time you would like to update a Fabric Laundry Hamper think of this Fabric Laundry Hamper Painted Design Tutorial
