Forsyth Shawl

There is a new shawl pattern in my Ravelry Shop. I am so excited to debut the Forsyth Shawl.

This is a garter stitch shawlette that incorporates stripes and eyelet rows for added interest. With a unique shaping technique, this is a quick knit project because it used worsted weight yarn and a larger needle. This project can be knit up over a weekend. The picot bind off adds interest to the edge with a little bit of sass. It can be worked into a larger shawl by adding more repeats and stripes.

New Scarves Free Crochet Pattern

If you are looking for a quick gift that will make a statement then this scarf is for you. You can whip it up in a couple hours and wear it tonight. You can use up some your stash as it only takes 220 yards of Aran or DK weight yarn. Make sure that you are only using one ball as it doesn't work really well with yarn that needs to be joined. (Updated )

I have been a crochet queen lately, making so many new scarves and I will have some of them for sale soon. But today I wanted to show you a few that I have created. This is a f aux broomstick lace scarf. Free Pattern at the end of the post.

This scarf is an Infinity Scarf and is made with Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable. I really like how it turned out. This is a very easy pattern to make up. It is a quick one skein project.

This is the solid version. I like it because it is a warm and cozy wrap. I used Vanna's Choice Yarn, Silver Grey for this and a Q Hook 

One things about this pattern is once you are finished and have seamed it up you have to stretch it and that is where the magic happens. It goes from looking like a normal single crochet to looking like complicated broomstick lace.

Here is the pattern: 

Supplies: 

1 skein of worsted weight yarn. any yarn will do you just need to have at least 250 yards. 

Q Hook

Darning needle

Chain 21

Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and sc across 

Row 2: chain 1, sc across 

repeat row 2 until about 10 yards of yarn is left. DO NOT FASTEN OFF

Finishing: place the beginning of the piece next to the end and sc the to ends together making sure not to twist your scarf. Once you have finished the row of single crochet fasten off and weave in the ends. 

Stretch your scarf out and try it on. 

sc = Single Crochet (US) or Double Crochet (UK)

Bracelet Bag Pattern:
Crochet hook : G
Yarn: Any Cotton DK weight

Pattern:
Chain 4
round 1: 12 dc in the 4 chain from hook join with a slip stitch chain 3.
round 2: 2dc in each stitch around (24 stitches) join with a slip stitch, chain 3.
round 3: *1dc, 2 dc in next two stitches * repeat around, join with slip stitch, chain 3.
round 4: 1dc, 2dc in next stitch repeat around, join with slip stitch, chain 3.
round 5: 1dc in the back loop of the previous round stitches around, join with a slip stitch, chain 3. (this round with start the sides of the bag)
Round 6: 1 dc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 3.
Repeat round 6 for 9 rounds.
Round 15: 1 dc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 2
Round 16: sc in the next 4 stitches, chain 10 skip next 4 stitches, sc in next 8 stitches, chain 25, skip next 4 stitches, sc in next 4 join with a slip stitch, chain 4.
Finishing round: sc around and in all chain stitches, slip stitch the end and finish off.
