Views of my Art Journal

This one is the one I completed Saturday Night. I used Range Adirondack Paint Daubers for the striped background. I also used them to patina the frame around the clock. I used a Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen in Red with my handcarved chevron stamps. I used a set of stamps from Michael's for the words and the clock. The clock background was from a "guest check" and covered with Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. Next a Bic Chisel Tip Marker was used to out line everything in black. Lastly a White-Out pen was used to add highlights to the page to finish it off

The next page that I worked on was using a quote that I took from my sermon notes from church on Sunday.

The background is made with the Gelli-Arts Gel Printing Plate. Then I added some doodles in black. Next using a Ranger Adirondack Paint Dauber and stencils the circles were created. Each circle is outlined with the White Out pen and more accents were added also.

I then stamped a vintage dictionary page with my handcarved chevron stamp and outlined it with the White Out Pen. Next the quote was drawn on with a pencil and the lines were traced with the White Out Pen, after that I used a Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen to go over the white lines. I really didn't like the way this looked because it really just seem to blend with the background. I then took the Bic Chisel Tip Marker and when over it all offsetting the line just enough to see what was underneath.

The third page that I started this weekend was a page with a girl on it. I have painted girls on canvas for years but I have never done one in my art journal before. I don't know what I am going to do to finish this page but I will keep you posted. I hope you all have a wonderful week and come back tomorrow for the Tuesday Low Entry Giveaway Link Party.

  1. I really like the colours you have used so bright but not over the top.
